13 Women and Two Men Detained by Taliban in a Training Program in Kabul
In Kabul, on Sunday, April 6, Taliban morality police detained 15 participants of a training program, 13 of whom were women. The training program, aimed at enhancing women’s capacity and providing education in management and leadership, was organized by one of the partner organizations of the United Nations office. It is reported that Taliban forces stormed the venue, detained all those present without providing any explanations or specific reasons, and transferred them to an unknown location.
This action by the Taliban has sparked widespread concerns regarding severe restrictions on women’s rights and civil liberties in Afghanistan. The families of the detainees, who visited security precincts, have been unable to obtain any information about the condition or whereabouts of their loved ones.
Meanwhile, the United Nations office in Kabul has not yet responded to this incident. These detentions come amid growing protests over the state of human rights under Taliban rule.
