The spokesperson of the Taliban’s Ministry of Defense has proposed marriage to some female journalists

Local sources have reported that Enayatullah Khwarazmi, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Defense, has proposed marriage to several female journalists.

According to these reports, Khwarazmi contacted female journalists using his personal phone number, claiming he is “modern” and does not behave like other Taliban members. This behavior has led some female journalists to refrain from covering news related to the Ministry of Defense.

Sources emphasized that the spokesperson has made such proposals multiple times, but female journalists have avoided disclosing the issue due to fear. It is also noted that managers of some domestic media outlets are aware of the matter but have not raised it with senior Taliban officials due to concerns about their reaction.

These reports come amid the Taliban’s ongoing policies over recent years, which have excluded women and girls from many social spheres and imposed strict measures against them.

Previously, reports had also surfaced about multiple marriages among Taliban officials, with some marrying twice in a single year.
