Unprecedented Increase in Rheumatism in Bamyan Province, Women as the Main Victims
Health sources in Bamyan Province report a significant rise in rheumatism cases in the region, with women being the primary victims. According to at least three health sources in the province, statistics show that the number of women seeking treatment for rheumatism has doubled over the past year. Meanwhile, the Taliban’s Public Health Department in Bamyan has not provided any information regarding this issue.
Homa Naeemi, a doctor at a private medical center in Bamyan city, has reported an increase in rheumatism patients, particularly this winter, noting that the disease has become especially prevalent among women.
Rheumatism, an inflammatory and autoimmune condition, targets joints, muscles, and bones, causing pain, swelling, and reduced joint mobility.
