Female Journalists in Takhar: Taliban Restrictions Have Deprived Us of Media Work

Female journalists in Takhar have stated that due to the restrictions imposed by the Taliban, they are unable to continue their work. These restrictions have led to psychological illnesses and economic difficulties for female journalists.

These journalists told Mirman Media that in the more than three years since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, all women have been banned from media activities in Takhar. Currently, no woman is working in local media in Takhar, and local media outlets, fearing the Taliban, are unable to hire women.

Meanwhile, a day earlier, the Taliban's Ministry of Information and Culture shut down Begum Radio, citing "regulatory violations."
